Compassion & Choices today applauded the intent of a Hawaii Death with Dignity measure, HB 806, and and criticized the Legislature for not enacting HB 806, a bill that would grant patients’ rights to make their own end-of-life decisions.
“Too many Americans suffer needlessly and endure unrelenting pain,” said Barbara Coombs Lee, president of Compassion & Choices. “HB 806 contains good, proven public policy that is now the law in Oregon, Washington and Montana. It’s unfortunate the politicians failed the people of Hawaii, who want this choice.”
