The taxpayers in southern San Mateo County (including me) have for years suffered the involuntary burden of supporting Sequoia Hospital, which the financially stressed public district essentially gave to Catholic Healthcare West. As a Kaiser member, I don't expect to have to submit to treatment at this place but I still have to pay taxes to the hospital district. The name change doesn't seem to make any real difference.
