| We are a statewide chapter of Compassion & Choices with around 400 members and organized in 1991 to support and promote end-of-life choices among Wisconsin residents who have terminal illnesses. We strive to bring to public attention more compassionate options for those who fear or face loss of dignity and personal autonomy in the dying process.
We support each person creating documents such as Powers of Attorney for Health Care and Advance Directives so ill persons can specify their desires for end-of-life care.
We strongly support the Hospice movement and encourage its wider availability.
We strive to provide a climate of public opinion which is tolerant of the rightsof the terminally ill to make their own choices in a planned manner, andwe advocate physician-assisted aid in dying as a lawful option for the terminally ill.
