New Jersey

With Compassion & Choices’ help, New Jersey is one step closer to allowing terminally ill residents legal access to aid in dying.
There have been exciting advances in New Jersey recently: The Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee approved an Oregon-style aid-in-dying bill on February 7 by a 7-2 vote. Compassion & Choices President Barbara Coombs Lee and a doctor representing the state psychological association were among experts supporting the bill.
Our director of government affairs and other legislative staff will continue meeting with bill sponsors, committee members and allied organizations to ensure the bill advances. Join our local volunteer team to ensure we have the strength to overcome the opposition and empower all New Jerseyans with every end-of-life option!
