Keynote Speaker is Compassion & Choices President Barbara Coombs Lee, author of Finish Strong: Putting Your Priorities First at Life’s End, the guide to achieving the positive end-of-life experience you want and deserve. For more than two decades, Barbara worked in clinical settings as a nurse, a nurse practitioner and a physician assistant, before devoting herself to advocacy for initiatives that allow individuals a full range of options and much greater agency in their healthcare decisions.
Compassion & Choices CEO Kim Callinan will share her thoughts on the end-of-life options movement in the symposium’s closing remarks. As a thought leader and subject matter expert, Kim frequently testifies at legislative hearings, appears in local and national print and television media and is invited as a frequent conference speaker. Kim shares her knowledge and expertise about the stark contrast between what healthcare consumers want and existing policies and practices in end-of-life care.
