Unselfish and noble actions are the most radiant pages in the biography of souls.
-David Thomas, English preacher and publisher, 1813-1894
Here at Compassion & Choices, we often marvel at how fortunate we are to be able to count on the efforts of over 5,000 unselfish volunteers who make incredible sacrifices to advance the movement to improve end-of-life care. In honor of National Volunteer Week, which kicks off today, we want to take some time to let you know how much we appreciate your contributions.
We’ve celebrated so many achievements together in the last year, including passing medical aid-in-dying laws in Colorado and Washington, D.C., launching valuable tools in our exciting Truth in Treatment initiative and expanding our bilingual Access Campaigns in the seven jurisdictions where medical aid in dying is authorized. None of this would be possible without you.
So let me take this moment to say a huge thank you for all that you do! There is no group of people that I’d rather partner with than the incredible Compassion & Choices volunteers. And since I would be remiss in sending this thank you without also giving you an opportunity to help, here is your challenge: Help celebrate National Volunteer Week by expanding your ranks of selfless and dedicated volunteers.

This year will hold more opportunities for our volunteers than ever before and we know that you and your community will be a tremendous asset in achieving our common goals. I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish together.
