History

On January 20, 2017, House Bill 2120, the Kansas Death With Dignity Act,  was introduced and referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services. An adverse resolution opposing medical aid in dying, House Concurrent Resolution 5010, was also introduced and had its first hearing in March. Neither effort moved forward.

Death with dignity bills were previously introduced in the 2015-16 and 2013-14 sessions.
