Kim Callinan serves as the chief program officer (CPO) at Compassion & Choices, the leading national nonprofit organization committed to improving care and expanding choice at the end of life. In this capacity, Ms. Callinan is responsible for working collaboratively with the organizational management team to develop the vision, set the strategic priorities, and direct the design and management of all Compassion & Choices programming. This includes responsibility for a more than 50-person staff and a $11 million departmental budget with oversight for national and federal programs; communications and marketing, social marketing, political and field; legal advocacy, and the end of life resource center.
Ms. Callinan came to Compassion & Choices bringing two decades of experience creating integrated campaigns to engineer social change for government agencies, nonprofit organizations, foundations and political campaigns including supporting issue campaigns related to the uninsured and child health and political campaigns at the federal, state and local levels. Ms. Callinan has a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University, a graduate certificate in public health from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree in government from Oberlin College. She also holds a certificate in the Fundamentals in Gerontology through a joint program offered by The American Society on Aging and the USC Davis School of Gerontology.
