2021 Summer Legal Fellowship
Compassion & Choices is pleased to offer a law student or recent law graduate a virtual 10-week full-time legal internship. Under the supervision of highly experienced staff, legal interns will serve as part of a nationwide advocacy effort to improve care and expand choice at the end of life. Work will primarily consist of research and writing on issues related to end-of-life healthcare, which are likely to involve civil, criminal and constitutional law. Learn more.
Development Coordinator
This position is primarily responsible for analyzing and researching current and prospective major donors and making recommendations for how to move donors forward, working with the gift officers to ensure donors are being cultivated, stewarded and asked to give. Learn more.
This position is primarily responsible for working closely with the Regional Campaign and Outreach Manager in the Midwest and Southeastern regions to formalize and streamline grassroots activities while building capacity and infrastructure. This position is primarily responsible for a small and growing policy department over time and representing the interests and needs of the legal and policy team (litigation, policy & state legislative counsel) at the management table. This includes creating our federal policy agenda, which will focus on patient directed care and health equity, while also developing policy positions to protect and advance access to the full range of end of life options including religious refusals, dying with dementia and advance directives. This position is primarily responsible for developing and executing a communications strategy for Compassion & Choices’ advocacy & outreach campaigns in consultation with the Communications Director and senior staff. The Senior Media Associate has overall responsibility for managing and implementing the in-state earned media strategy, and providing leadership for and driving the development, planning, and coordination of state media work in partnership with our digital communications team. This position is primarily responsible for coordination and assistance with the outreach, cultivation and solicitation of donors in California for our campaign to renew the law. This position will support the Philanthropy Gift Officer by organizing gatherings (via zoom or in person if appropriate), maintaining and tracking donor lists, coordinating and supporting the fundraising efforts of volunteer fundraisers and maintaining a small portfolio of mid-level donors to engage and solicit.
